Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Senior RF Geolocation Engineer to lead passive RF localization development for its electromagnetic warfare product line. You will derive, implement, and validate high-performance localization algorithms across distributed sensors and optimize software for real-time operation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to calibrate systems, run field tests, and document results. Travel up to 30% and eligibility for U.S. security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of RF signal processing, estimation, or geolocation algorithm experience.
• Strong foundation in statistical/time-domain signal processing, estimation theory, and linear algebra.
• Experience with passive RF geolocation methods (TDOA, FDOA, multilateration, direction finding, interferometry).
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar languages for modeling and implementation.
• Ability to translate algorithms to real-time software for RF/SDR hardware.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and derive passive RF geolocation algorithms (TDOA/FDOA) for distributed sensors.
• Develop coherent/non-coherent geolocation and imaging approaches with multi-node processing.
• Apply detection frameworks (Neyman-Pearson, Bayesian, CFAR) to noisy RF environments.
• Translate mathematical models into efficient software for DSP/GPU or other accelerators.
• Build high-fidelity simulations to evaluate accuracy, budgets, and tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define RF front-end and timing needs.
• Support calibration, test planning, and field validation in operational environments.
• Document assumptions, results, and performance for stakeholders and customers.
