Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Senior RF Geolocation Engineer to lead advanced passive RF geolocation for our electromagnetic warfare products. You will develop high-performance localization for non-cooperative emitters across distributed sensors, from first-principles modeling to field validation, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include designing TDOA/FDOA-based algorithms, imaging approaches, and real-time implementations while accounting for real-world nonidealities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of RF signal processing, estimation, or geolocation experience.
• Strong foundation in statistical and time-domain signal processing, estimation theory.
• Experience with passive RF geolocation algorithms such as TDOA, FDOA, multilateration or interferometry.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar for modeling and implementation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• On-site work in Hawthorne, CA or Washington, DC 3-5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Design and derive passive RF geolocation algorithms using first principles with distributed sensors.
• Develop coherent/non-coherent geolocation and imaging approaches with interferometry.
• Apply detection frameworks to maximize probability of detection in noisy RF environments.
• Translate mathematical models into real-time software for RF geolocation.
• Build high-fidelity simulations to evaluate accuracy, sensitivity, and tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers on RF front-end requirements.
• Document assumptions, performance limits, and test results for stakeholders.
