Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support the design, test, and qualification of advanced RF and electronic oscillator products. The role is based in Central Pennsylvania on a 1st shift schedule (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and requires U.S.

Person status for ITAR compliance. The candidate will collaborate with design engineers, build prototypes, troubleshoot complex issues, and assist in NPI activities while contributing to production improvements in a

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of RF circuits, AC/DC electronics, and thermal/mechanical stress effects.
• Ability to interpret and modify electronic schematics.
• Hands-on experience building, testing, and evaluating electronic prototypes.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum/network/phase noise analyzers and environmental testers.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-55310 preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers to build, test, and evaluate prototypes across static, dynamic, and environmental conditions.
• Interpret schematics and assist with schematic entry, modifications, and documentation updates.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including prototype build, validation, and qualification.
• Troubleshoot production yield, quality issues, and support root-cause analysis of RMAs.
• Develop test specifications and engineering change orders, and support technical documentation.
• Support production operations through troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
