Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Electronics Technician in Springfield, VA to design, fabricate, test, and maintain custom RF and electronic systems for operational and laboratory environments.

You will work with engineers and government stakeholders across full hardware lifecycle, from concept to field sustainment, leveraging embedded platforms and CAD tools while ensuring IPC-compliant craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility (US citizenship required).
• Six years of experience in electronics, RF systems, or electrical engineering support.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting RF electronic systems.
• Experience designing custom RF antennas and matching networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, assemble, test, and troubleshoot RF and electronic systems for lab and field use.
• Design RF antennas for specialized bands and requirements.
• Create schematics and multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer.
• Program and debug embedded controllers using C/C++, Arduino, STM32, ESP32.
• Perform precision SMT soldering and PCB rework per IPC standards.
• Develop RF subsystems, transceivers, sensors, and power management circuits.
• Prepare technical documentation: schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly and test procedures.
• Support system integration, field testing, deployment, and sustainment.
