Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Rochester, NY seeks a Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer (RF Design) to lead RF design investigations and mentor junior engineers.

You will collaborate across design, test, and manufacturing to optimize transmitter/receiver circuits and drive production-ready solutions using ADS, Matlab, LabVIEW, and Jira. Required: Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years (or graduate degree with 9+ years; 11+ years if no degree) and the ability to obtain US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree reduces experience need.
• High-level RF knowledge and design/troubleshooting required.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating investigations.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide junior staff; coordinate investigations; detail design tradeoffs.
• Mitigate component shortages by qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits.
• Collaborate with design engineering and manufacturing to introduce new designs.
• Make circuit changes prior to and during product launches.
• Troubleshoot units to component level and implement fixes.
• Improve product performance and outline design tradeoffs and risks.
