Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer II to lead the development of RF products including the Frontier-Lite Radio in a fast-paced space hardware environment.

You will design RF circuits, perform simulations, support system design, and collaborate with test and manufacturing teams to deliver space-worthy solutions for missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, RF communications (or other engineering degree) is required.
• Fundamental RF knowledge including cascaded device analysis, link budget analysis, and HFSS.
• Experience in developing and delivering an RF product including assessing requirements and prototyping.
• Solid theoretical and practical understanding of RF communications and navigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain RF product requirements specifications.
• Design and prototype RF products including component selection and PCB layout.
• Develop test plans and procedures for RF products.
• Support GSE and production automation development.
• Create product documentation such as ICDs and User Manuals.
• Collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineers to drive New Product Introduction.
• Review proposals and requirements specifications to assess compliance.
