Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior RF Components Engineer to own RF flight components from specification to flight readiness. You will partner with RF Systems, Flight Software, and I&T teams to ensure reliable hardware and robust interfaces for space missions.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, rigorous qualification, and a culture of ownership. You will lead component validation, develop automation, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced space startup environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• Experience designing/integrating RF components into transmit/receive chains.
• Strong ownership, self-motivated with ability to lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer for RF flight components (radios, power amps, antennas, filters).
• Refine product specs with RF Systems Engineers; oversee lifecycle and component design/select.
• Document cross-functional interface requirements with Flight Software, Structures, and I&T teams.
• Oversee acceptance testing for space environments (Thermal, Vibration, EMI).
• Develop test software to automate equipment and evaluate performance.
• Root-cause analysis on failures and implement mitigation strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and set a high bar for future leaders.
