Job summary

Amphenol CDI seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to serve as the technical authority for RF and interconnect solutions, partnering with Sales, Engineering, Product Development, and Marketing to translate customer requirements into viable product solutions and drive technical wins.

You will own customer engagements from concept through production, provide system-level guidance, deliver design-in support, and develop high-quality collateral while mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 7–10 years in Applications/Field Engineering or Product Development within interconnects, RF/microwave, aerospace, defense, or related high-reliability markets.
• Demonstrated track record translating customer requirements into product solutions and securing design wins.
• Strong background in customer-facing roles, including design-in support, technical presentations, and solution selling.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations to drive business outcomes.
• Proven ability to conduct competitive analysis, assess market trends, and provide input to product roadmaps.
• Hands-on familiarity with CAD tools, signal integrity analysis, or test equipment (network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority and primary customer interface across the CDI product portfolio.
• Own and lead customer engagement from concept through production, driving design-in and program closure.
• Provide system-level guidance and architectural support to optimize performance and integration.
• Lead resolution of complex technical and commercial challenges with minimal oversight.
• Partner with sales to convert opportunities into design wins and influence bookings and margins.
• Evaluate and validate custom design opportunities for feasibility, costing, and margin.
• Support qualification and compliance requirements across aerospace, defense, and communications.
• Deliver pre- and post-sale technical support and mentor the team.
• Provide market and competitive insights to guide product strategy.
• Develop high-quality technical collateral and reference designs.
