Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5+ years in field applications, design, technical sales, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of connectors, interconnect systems, cable assemblies or related electromechanical products.
• Experience guiding customers through product design, qualification, validation, and production.
• Proven ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Proficiency with CAD tools like Creo or SolidWorks.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customer accounts with engineering, purchasing, and program management teams.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to identify and close new opportunities.
• Drive design wins by understanding applications and recommending Amphenol solutions.
• Support customers through the full product development cycle from concept to production.
• Work with Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing to tailor solutions to customer needs.
• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, product demos, and design reviews.
• Provide guidance on connector and interconnect products for design optimization.
• Review customer drawings using CAD tools to ensure feasibility and compliance.
• Keep informed on industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Travel regularly to customer sites to strengthen relationships.
