Job summary

Accelint is seeking an experienced finance professional in Falls Church, VA, for a hybrid role focusing on cost accounting, project accounting, and program finance. You will manage analyses, close processes, and reconciliations while collaborating with Program Managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely decision support.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of relevant experience, advanced Excel skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a project-driven environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may substitute per policy.
• 4+ years in cost/project accounting, financial analysis, or project-based environment.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, cost transfers, and discrepancy research.
• Experience with forecasting (EAC/ETC) and analyzing project costs, margins, risks, and performance.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual/cost accounting, project-based revenue recognition, and milestone-based billing.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/project accounting systems experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills; able to explain financial info to non-financial stakeholders.
• Active U.S. national security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage accounting analyses, reconciliations, schedules, and recurring deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify financial risks, exposures, and inconsistencies in accounting records and data.
• Evaluate assumptions, challenge discrepancies, and support decision-making with facts.
• Maintain accurate records and support ledger integrity, close and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Program Managers and Program Controls to align reporting with execution, forecasts, and baselines.
• Assess financial implications of activities, contracts, and customer commitments with proper accountability.
• Act as liaison between Finance, Program Management, and Program Controls for timely financial information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
