Job summary

The University of Missouri - Columbia is seeking a Sr. Business Services Consultant in the Department of Neurosurgery to oversee departmental operations, financial management, and revenue cycle performance.

You will partner with clinical divisions and administrative teams to maximize revenue, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic goals of the organization. This role reports to the department leadership and involves budgeting, reporting, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred credentials include coding certification and CPA where applicable.
• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, financial administration, and budgeting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee departmental finances, budgets, forecasting and year-end activities.
• Review coding, documentation, and reimbursement opportunities to maximize revenue.
• Monitor revenue cycle performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead audits, education, and training for providers and staff.
• Develop tools/reports to monitor financial performance and KPIs.
• Collaborate with billing teams to ensure timely claims processing and charge capture.
