Job summary

Brennan Staffing Group Inc. in Boston, MA seeks a Senior Revenue Accountant to ensure accurate revenue and related cost accounting, partnering with Finance, Operations, Sales and IT to support monthly close and reporting.

You will perform journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, and related accounts, while collaborating with Sales, Product, Legal, and Professional Services to ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience, with revenue accounting preferred.
• Experience in a SaaS, technology, or services-based environment is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of end-to-end order-to-cash process and impact on revenue recognition and reporting.
• Perform monthly/quarterly analytical reviews to ensure revenue and related accounts are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and record journal entries related to revenue, deferred revenue, and related accounts.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Professional Services, Operations, FP&A, and IT for proper accounting treatment.
• Support reporting and analytics related to revenue and related metrics.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Ensure SOX controls are followed and document processes.
• Support internal and external audits with requested documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
