Job summary

The Bolton Group is seeking a Sr. Revenue Accountant to lead Accounts Receivable close activities and support revenue accounting across a multi-entity organization. This role partners with Accounting and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and perform revenue and AR analysis.

You will own the AR close calendar, review aging, reconcile cash application, and help drive process improvements, automation, and internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in Accounts Receivable, Revenue Accounting, or related functions.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong AR knowledge: cash applications, aging analysis, and bad debt reserves.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical abilities.
• ERP systems experience.
• Background in multi-entity environments (construction, distribution, manufacturing).
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and revenue analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the AR close calendar and deadlines.

• Reconcile cash application activity, AR subledger, and GL balances.
• Calculate and document bad debt reserves and allowances.
• Analyze revenue fluctuations and explain variances to leadership.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

• Own and maintain the monthly Accounts Receivable close calendar and related deadlines.
• Perform AR aging reviews and investigate aged, disputed, unapplied, credit, and inactive balances.
• Reconcile cash application activity, AR subledger accounts, and general ledger balances.
• Calculate and document bad debt reserves and allowance methodologies.
• Analyze revenue fluctuations and provide variance explanations to leadership.
• Prepare financial reports, job count reporting, and management-ready analyses.
• Support month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, audits, and year-end reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and workflow improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Revenue Accounting, Financial Analysis, or related accounting functions.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
