Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a seasoned HR professional to support retirement programs administration, including defined benefit and 401(k) plans. You will process payroll, run validations, and prepare reports for leadership.

Ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, analytical ability, and experience collaborating with internal and external auditors. This role provides exposure to pension governance and ad-hoc project work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 4 to 7 years relevant work experience.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to tailor messaging.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
• Analytical and quantitative skills with ability to identify challenges and develop solutions.
• CEBS or SHRM certification is a plus.
• Experience with pension programs and 401(k) administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports administration of defined benefit pension programs (qualified and non-qualified).
• Supports administration of the 401(k) program.
• Assists with monthly pension payroll processing and validations; Oracle knowledge is a plus.
• Performs reconciliations and researches discrepancies.
• Work with auditors on the annual pension audit.
• Prepare and deliver pension-related presentations to employees.
• Prepare various ad-hoc retirement program reports and statistics.
