Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a seasoned retirement services advisor to grow and support advisor relationships, manage client portfolios, and provide expert guidance on investments, fees, and plan design. You will lead participant education and enrollment support while traveling to client sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has extensive retirement industry experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a proven ability to present complex topics to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a business related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum seven years' experience in the retirement industry.
• In depth knowledge of investments and fee schedules.
• In depth knowledge of retirement plan structure.
• Ability to present professionally to all levels of knowledge among clients.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization, and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Grow and support the advisor relationship and act as point of contact for escalations.
• Manage a portfolio of business clients with advanced financial solutions.
• Maintain ongoing communication with client stakeholders to discuss goals and service concerns.
• Apply ERISA knowledge and retirement plan industry experience in reviews with clients and intermediaries.
• Lead plan education and enrollment support for direct plans and educate participants.
• Review fee schedules and structure with clients and negotiate when needed.
