Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a senior leader to manage the retirement Relationship Managers, guiding client relationships and generating new business opportunities. You will mentor a team of advisors, coordinate with product experts, and ensure resource efficiency in serving clients.

This role requires deep ERISA knowledge, a track record in financial services, and the ability to present complex retirement solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of financial services with progression into management.
• Minimum 8 years in retirement plan/ERISA experience.
• Professional accreditation(s) such as CFP, CFA, CPA, CWS, MBA.
• Ability to assess client needs and make proactive recommendations.
• Experience coaching and developing staff and leadership skills.
• CRM usage to track and manage opportunities.
• Proven client service and sales abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and manage retirement business advisors and overall performance.
• Develop career goals and paths for Retirement Relationship Managers.
• Ensure CRM is used for tracking opportunities and follow‑ups.
• Grow a portfolio of retirement plan clients with advanced solutions.
• Serve retirement clients' financial needs across Alerus solutions.
• Solicit new retirement business opportunities with existing clients.
• Apply knowledge of ERISA, plan reviews, and fiduciary considerations.
• Participate in strategic planning with ARB leadership to improve processes.
