Job summary

Alerus Financial seeks an experienced retirement advisor to grow and support advisor relationships, handle escalations, and drive plan education for retirement plans.

You will manage a book of business, present the value of Alerus solutions to decision makers, and apply ERISA knowledge while conducting regular reviews. Some travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of seven years' experience in the retirement industry.
• In-depth knowledge of investments and fee schedules.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan structure.
• Ability to present professionally to all levels.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Ability to interpret documents and resolve technical problems.
• Basic knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage, analyze, and retain a portfolio of business clients, delivering advanced financial solutions.
• Maintain ongoing communication with client decision makers and present the value proposition.
• Apply advanced investment knowledge including markets, data, asset classes, and funds.
• Conduct regular plan, investment, and service reviews with ERISA and retirement plan expertise.
• Serve as primary Advisor or Sponsor contact for direct plans; travel to client locations as needed.
• Support and grow advisor relationships and educate plan participants.
• Lead participant education and enrollment support across multiple delivery formats.
