Job summary

Alerus is seeking an experienced advisor to grow and support the advisor relationship for retirement plans, serving as the primary contact for direct plans and traveling to client locations for education as needed.

The role emphasizes plan reviews, fee benchmarking, participant education, and proactive engagement with plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and investment committees. Alerus offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of seven years’ experience in the retirement industry.
In depth knowledge of investments and fee schedules.
In depth knowledge of retirement plan structure.
Ability to present professionally to all client levels.
Strong written and verbal communication and client service skills.
Ability to work independently and set priorities.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Overtime availability for peak workloads.

Responsibilities

Manage, analyze, and retain a portfolio of business clients with advanced solutions.
Maintain ongoing communication with client influencers to understand goals and concerns, presenting value of Alerus.
Apply advanced investment knowledge including markets, asset classes, and funds.
Conduct regular plan, investment, and service reviews with clients and intermediaries.
Serve as primary Advisor or Sponsor contact for direct plans; travel for education as needed.
Support and grow advisor relationships and book of plans.
