Alerus is seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst to support both new and existing business activities through the creation, review, and implementation of plan documents, amendments, fee changes, and related compliance materials. Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical retirement plan experience with all types of tax-qualified plans
• 5-10 years of experience with 401(k) plans; underwriting or new case issuance preferred
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written/oral communication, organization, and client service skills required
• Maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clients
• Work independently and set priorities
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage complex document-related activities and projects, including plan amendments, restatements, regulatory updates, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
• Serve as a senior subject matter expert for plan documents, amendments, fee changes, and compliance-related requirements
• Act as a resource and escalation point for Compliance and service teams, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship to support operational excellence
• Collaborate across departments to identify risks, improve processes, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, compliance, and the overall client experience
