Job summary

Alerus is seeking a Compliance Analyst to support new business activity by creating plan documents and uploading forms. The role also handles amendments, fee changes, and serves as back-up for Compliance and service teams.

Primary duties include coordinating client communications on legislative changes, assisting with new business installations, and drafting key documents to establish ARB/client responsibilities. Strong organization and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of technical retirement plan experience with all types of tax-qualified plans.
• 3-5 years of experience with 401(k) plans; underwriting or new case issuance preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written/oral communication, organization, and client service skills.
• Maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
• Work independently and set priorities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client communication related to legislative changes, client specific topics as directed.
• Support new business installation as directed.
• Prepare adoption agreement draft, board resolution, retirement plan service agreement, confirmation of funds, and other agreements and/or documents necessary to establish and define ARB/client responsibilities.
• Participate in annual Administrative Review process. Audit plan provisions, fee setup and plan documentation. Research and resolve exceptions as necessary.
