Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a Compliance Administrator to serve as a subject matter expert in retirement compliance administration. In a queued work environment leveraging Salesforce, this role emphasizes accuracy and regulatory adherence across compliance tasks.

You will support client-facing teams when needed, assist with compliance testing and Form 5500, and collaborate with internal groups to meet deadlines. A business degree and ASPPA designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of defined contribution plan administration experience.
• ASPPA designations or similar certifications preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization, and client service skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret documents and resolve technical problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, accurate, and thorough communication related to higher complexity retirement plan administration and compliance.
• Engage with the client as needed and handle escalations within the team.
• Support compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data handling and adherence to deadlines.
• Partner with senior team members for peer reviews and assist Level I/II administrators.
• Assist on projects impacting the Compliance Administration area.
