Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a Compliance Analyst to support new business activity and manage plan documentation, amendments, and related back‑office tasks. The role backstops Compliance and service teams with attention to detail and regulatory understanding.

Key responsibilities include drafting adoption agreements and board resolutions, supporting annual reviews, and ensuring accurate plan documentation. Alerus offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of technical retirement plan experience with all types of tax-qualified plans.
• 3-5 years of experience with 401(k) plans; underwriting or new case issuance preferred.
• Good written/oral communication, organization, and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client communication related to legislative changes, client specific topics as directed.
• Support new business installation as directed.
• Prepare adoption agreement draft, board resolution, retirement plan service agreement, confirmation of funds, and other documents necessary to establish and define ARB/client responsibilities.
• Participate in annual Administrative Review process. Audit plan provisions, fee setup and plan documentation. Research and resolve exceptions as necessary.
