Job summary

Empower is seeking a Senior Workplace Planning Consultant to deliver retirement and financial wellness guidance within employer-sponsored plans. You will guide participants through managed accounts, educate on distributions, and build relationships through proactive, personalized engagements that support long-term financial well-being.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in financial services or advisory roles, a life-long learner mindset, and strong sales experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in financial services, retirement planning, or advisory environments
• Demonstrated success in sales
• Good understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services and the qualified retirement plan environment
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and ability to handle stressful situations and people on a daily basis
• Good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and various file manipulation skills on a PC
• Ability to quickly learn Empower's record keeping system, Salesforce software
• Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) registration required through the Series 65 or another qualifying examination or professional designation
• FINRA fingerprinting upon hire

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with customers by delivering personalized service and respond to plan and policy questions.
• Relay accurate information and provide clear and concise communication of policies and procedures.
• Retain assets through education and guidance of available plan specific and general distribution options.
• Engage in a dialogue to educate customers in making informed distribution decisions and the advantages of participation in a company sponsored retirement plan or an individual retirement account versus the tax implications of taking receipt of the proceeds from their retirement investments.
• Deliver optimal solutions to customers in every interaction.
• Engage with peers in the organization to problem solve and deliver results.
• Use innovative tools and services to find the best options and strategies to help customers with their retirement-planning needs.
• Meet monthly and annual sales and service goals.
