Job summary

Apex Systems seeks a Lead SWE to design, build, and deliver core Retail Store systems including POS and omni-channel fulfillment. This role is hands-on and technical, owning architecture and delivery across store-facing apps and integrations with Shopify, ERP, and loyalty platforms.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD and incident response, and ensure reliability for domestic and international store operations, using Java, Python, NodeJS, React, Kafka, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in design and delivery for complex systems.
• Strong Retail domain experience in store operations and omnichannel commerce.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and NodeJS; backend services using Spring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of store systems including POS and OMNI fulfillment.
• Hands-on technical lead coding in Java, Python, NodeJS, and React across backend/frontend.
• Collaborate with Product, Retail Ops, ERP, and partners to deliver scalable solutions.
• Design and operate event-driven architectures using Kafka with reliability and consistency.
