Job summary

enableIT is seeking a Senior POS Architect to lead discovery, current-state assessment, and target-state design for an enterprise retail POS environment. You will architect integrations across ERP, finance, merchandising, CRM, loyalty, and e-commerce, assessing existing systems and defining roadmaps.

Periodic travel to NYC for client workshops is expected. Experience with New Black EVA or Aptos is strongly preferred; candidates with other enterprise POS platforms will be considered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology experience including 6+ years in POS architecture or enterprise retail systems.
• Led at least one enterprise POS implementation or transformation.
• Strong experience in POS discovery, solution design, integration architecture, and target-state planning.
• Experience with enterprise POS platforms such as New Black EVA, Aptos, Oracle Xstore, Toshiba, Manhattan Active Omni POS, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, or Shopify POS.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops, assess existing POS environments, identify gaps, and define target-state architecture.
• Design enterprise POS architecture and integration patterns across ERP, finance, merchandising, PIM, pricing, promotions, CRM, loyalty, inventory, WMS, OMS, e-commerce, tax, HR, and identity systems.
• Define master data strategies, canonical data models, event schemas, data transformations, and integration standards.
• Design streaming and bulk data ingestion patterns, including claim-check patterns where appropriate.
• Establish reliable integration mechanisms for retries, idempotency, error handling, redrive, replay, and recovery.
• Define POS transaction flows and integration architecture supporting enterprise retail operations.
• Address payment architecture, including Adyen, PCI DSS, EMV, tokenization, and payment security.
• Establish observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support standards.
• Produce architecture diagrams, design documents, interface specifications, and implementation roadmaps.
• Facilitate architecture reviews and collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Support architecture governance and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with enterprise POS platforms, complex system integrations, retail data architecture, payments, and large-scale retail transformation.

Experience with New Black EVA is strongly preferred. Candidates with Aptos or other enterprise POS platform experience will also be considered.

• Strong experience in POS discovery, solution design, integration architecture, and target-state planning.
• Experience with enterprise POS platforms such as New Black EVA, Aptos, Oracle Xstore, Toshiba, Manhattan Active Omni POS, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, or Shopify POS.
• Experience in fashion, luxury, specialty, or multi-brand retail environments.
• Strong understanding of retail integrations, master data, canonical models, APIs, event-driven architecture, and data ingestion patterns.
• Experience designing resilient integrations, including retry, replay, redrive, idempotency, and error recovery.
• Understanding of payment processing and security standards, including PCI DSS, EMV, and tokenization.
• Experience producing architecture documentation and communicating technical designs to business and technology stakeholders.
