Job summary

Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, seeks an experienced Senior Underwriter for its Retail Middle Market Property team. Based in one of Starr's regional offices (New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas), you will underwrite new and renewal property business and nurture strong broker and client relationships.

You will evaluate complex risks, ensure compliance with underwriting standards, and participate in portfolio growth while collaborating with internal partners to deliver profitable

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of direct property underwriting experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in underwriting platforms and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Solicit, evaluate, and underwrite new and renewal middle market property business from diverse sources.
Analyze documentation per underwriting standards and request information as needed.
Present quotation terms and conditions to brokers and clients within authority.
Build and maintain broker, client, and partner relationships to grow the portfolio.
Review and approve binding terms, endorsements, and amendments for new/renewal business.
