Job summary

Watterson Environmental & Facilities Management seeks a Senior Mitigation Technician to assess damaged properties, determine salvageable areas, and restore sites following safety standards.

You will supervise laborers on large mitigation/remediation projects, operate drying equipment, perform water and fire/mold remediation, document progress, and maintain strong customer communication while upholding PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2+ IICRC Restoration Certifications (WRT/ASD/FSRT) required.
• 3+ years as Restoration Technician experience.
• Must lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead large mitigation/remediation projects $100k+.
• Perform water mitigation, fire/smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and demolition per procedures and IICRC standards.
• Assess damaged areas and determine scope of work, identifying salvageable vs non-salvageable materials.
• Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, moisture devices).
• Document progress with photos, moisture readings, sketches, and daily notes.
• Communicate professionally with customers about status and expectations while maintaining high service levels.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE usage, hazard communication, and safe equipment operation.
• Drive and operate company vehicles and equipment safely; maintain vehicles/tools.
• Assist with containment setup, negative air systems, and cross-contamination prevention.
• Load/unload, inventory, and transport equipment between sites and warehouses.
• Participate in training, certifications, safety meetings, and education.
