Job summary

Watterson is seeking a Mitigation Technician to assess damaged properties, perform water and fire cleanup, mold remediation, and demolition per IICRC standards. The role includes setting up drying equipment, documenting progress, and communicating with customers while maintaining safety and high service levels.

Qualified applicants will have 1–2 years of general work experience, 2+ years in restoration, and the ability to lift 75 pounds. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL not specified.

Qualifications

• IICRC Restoration Certifications preferred (WRT, ASD, FSRT, etc.).
• 2+ years as an experienced Restoration Technician preferred.
• 1-2 years of general work experience.
• Ability to lift at least 75 pounds and valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform water mitigation, fire/smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and demolition per procedures and standards.
• Assess damaged areas and help determine scope of work, identifying salvageable materials.
• Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment and moisture monitoring devices.
• Document progress with photos, moisture readings, and daily notes using company systems.
• Communicate project status and expectations professionally with customers.
• Follow safety procedures, use PPE correctly, and operate equipment safely.
• Drive company vehicles; maintain and organize tools and equipment.
• Assist with containment, negative air systems, and cross-contamination prevention.
• Load/unload, inventory, and transport equipment between sites and warehouses.
• Participate in training, certifications, safety meetings, and ongoing education.
• Collaborate with team, supervisors, subcontractors, and other departments to ensure quality.
