Red Robin is seeking a Senior Restaurant Accountant in Colorado to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and close support. The role drives adherence to US GAAP and internal controls, while identifying process improvements and enhancing SOX documentation.

You will perform variance analyses, prepare audit-ready schedules, and collaborate across finance to optimize close timelines and reporting accuracy. A CPA or CPA candidate is preferred, with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3+ years in public or corporate accounting.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and initiative to stay current.
• Ability to proactively resolve issues across organizations.
• Proficient in financial analysis, reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• ERP experience required; Oracle Fusion and Blackline preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to interpret complex formulas.
• High ethics, integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely journal entries across accounting areas per close schedule.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls while speeding close.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct detailed variance analyses to explain changes in accounts.
• Prepare schedules and analyses supporting significant balances.
• Maintain SOX controls and documentation; improve internal controls and policies.
• Own key controls for corporate accounts and update SOX docs as needed.
• Provide schedules for auditors and respond to audit requests.
• Support software implementations and process-improvement projects.
• Document processes and cross-train to cover absences.
• Complete ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
