Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform a variety of respiratory therapy modalities for patients with cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction. You will assist in diagnosis, treatment and management, while analyzing specimens and measuring lung capacity to guide care.

Responsibilities include administering prescribed treatments, supervising respiratory therapy technicians, and reporting to the RTSL and Respiratory Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care program, minimum of associate degree
• Licensed as an Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by SC Board of Medical Examiners
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosis, treatment and management of pulmonary patients.
• Collect and analyze sputum, blood and breath specimens.
• Measure lung function to assess impairment.
• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments.
• Oversee respiratory therapy technicians and report to RTSL and Respiratory Manager.
• Work weekends/holidays as required.
