Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA program of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed to practice respiratory care in Nebraska.
• NBRC registration as an RRT required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS, NRP and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Initiates assessment and reassessment based on pulmonary conditions.
• Provides basic and advanced ventilator management for all modes and settings.
• Develops plans for delivery of respiratory care as directed by physicians or protocols.
• Advises physicians regarding therapy options as patient condition warrants.
• Monitors and administers respiratory care modalities and records outcomes.
• Assists and supervises in emergency resuscitation including airway management.
• Performs airway management including trach care and related procedures.
• Oversees airway maintenance during intra-facility patient transport.
• Initiates hemodynamic monitoring and arterial line maintenance.
• Acts as clinical resource for shift and participates in Rapid Response Team.
