Job summary

Bryan Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to initiate standard therapy, manage ventilators and protocols across infant to geriatric patients. The role requires AR/ABG analysis, CPR/ACLS milestones, and active NBRC credentialing.

The position demands evaluation and reassessment, documentation, and collaboration with physicians; the therapist will support rapid response teams and provide patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA program of Respiratory Care.
• Nebraska licensure to practice respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and active through NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required; ACLS within 6 months; PALS preferred for pediatrics/ED.

Responsibilities

• Initiates assessment and reassessment based on pulmonary condition.
• Monitors and administers respiratory care modalities; records therapy in the medical record.
• Develops plans for delivery of respiratory care per physician or protocol.
• Contacts providers regarding changes in patient condition and treatment needs.
• Performs arterial phlebotomy and arterial line draws; runs IStat as competency.
• Provides ventilator management, including non-invasive modes; advanced modalities if competent.
• Assists with airway management and intubation when trained.
• Participates in Bryan Health's Rapid Response Teams (BRRTs).
• Performs ECGs and cardiac monitoring as required; maintains infection control for equipment.
• Distributes education to patients and families; ensures discharge planning.
