Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Specialty Account Specialist to support pulmonology and related respiratory access across The Bronx, Westchester County, Southern Connecticut and surrounding areas. This field-based role emphasizes clinical education, payer navigation and strong relationship building.

You will collaborate with market access, medical affairs and marketing, travel up to 30% domestically, and drive patient access while adhering to compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to travel domestically, including occasional overnight travel up to 30%.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to drive as required for the role.
• The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience: Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.; Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with specialist customers, including pulmonologists, allergists, nurse specialists and practice managers.
• Deliver clear, evidence-based clinical education and support to specialist teams.
• Identify reimbursement and distribution needs and connect customers with appropriate support resources.
• Develop tailored account plans and tactics to drive patient access and service.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners, including market access, medical affairs, and marketing.
• Adhere to compliance and ethical guidelines in all customer interactions.
