Job summary

Mercy Health's Respiratory Care Practitioner II– Fairfield Hospital role seeks an experienced professional to deliver comprehensive respiratory care from assessment through evaluation. The incumbent coordinates ventilator care, airway management and education, while ensuring safety and quality patient outcomes.

Requirements include a state license, NBRC credential and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with two years of experience; EPIC EHR familiarity is preferred, and a strong precepting capability

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional.
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (required).
• ACLS (required).
• PALS (required).
• NRP (preferred).
• CPFT (preferred).
• RPFT (preferred).
• ACCS (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Knowledge of chest X-ray interpretation (preferred).
• EPIC EHR training (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and airway equipment.
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and intubation as applicable.
• Perform pulmonary function tests (PFT) and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Educate patients and families on therapies and home care.
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Respond to cardio-pulmonary emergencies and document care.
• Act as a preceptor to new staff and students.
