Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Senior Resource Geologist to join our Mining & Energy team in Reno, NV. The role focuses on developing resource models, supporting technical reporting, and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team on diverse mining projects.

Based in Reno with preference for local or nearby geography, the candidate will mentor junior geologists, improve estimation practices, and contribute to client relations and business development. Remote work is not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geology, geostatistics, or a related field
• 3-5 years of mine geology experience within an operating environment
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in resource modelling and domain estimation
• 10+ years of total experience in geology, with a strong focus on resource work
• Professional designation such as Professional Geologist (P.G) or P.Geo. (Canada) and/or CPG (AIPG)
• Strong background in resource estimation, block modelling, and geological interpretation
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

• Develop and validate geological and block models
• Prepare mineral resource estimates and support technical reporting per industry standards
• Collaborate with geology, mine planning, operations, and engineering teams
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to estimation practice improvements
• Support business development by client engagement and participation in industry events
