Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Minnesota seeks an experienced workforce planning professional to manage front-line resource allocations, forecast workloads, and optimize staffing and training needs. You will create models, communicate plans, and provide regular reports to align staffing with service demands.

The role emphasizes capacity planning, liaison across departments, and driving efficiency while maintaining strong partner relationships with internal teams and external collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline from an accredited college and university and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in forecasting, planning and resource deployment in the service industry or related environment.
  • Or eight (8) years' work experience with emphasis on Business, Finance or Accounting. Every two years of experience is equivalent to one year of education.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and analyzes workload forecasts and staffing plans to optimize front-line staffing.
  • Routes front-line staff to ensure daily and weekly service levels.
  • Monitors and adjusts plans based on demand and capacity, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Provides regular and ad-hoc staffing, scheduling and training reports.
  • Maintains understanding of workload forecasting and modeling to improve processes.
  • Builds positive relationships across the organization and with external partners.
  • Acts as a liaison across workforces and departments, demonstrating leadership and good judgment.

Job Summary

Effectively manages front-line resource allocations by creating, maintaining and communicating appropriate models and reports. Evaluates workforce capacities and pending or forecasted work to achieve optimal workforce alignment and makes recommendations to the appropriate audience related to staffing and/or training needs.

Essential Functions
  • Understands company resource capabilities and capacities and creates and analyzes workload forecasts and plans to develop a front-line staffing schedule which utilizes resources to their fullest.
  • Enables the routing of the front-line staff to assure appropriate levels of service delivery are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Monitors and adjusts the plan sufficiently, based upon changing demand requirements and resource capacities, by completing comprehensive analysis, converting data to usable information.
  • Provides regular and ad-hoc reports to make staffing, scheduling, training, and other planned event adjustments that allows the workforce to meet the customer needs and expectations.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of workload forecasting and modeling and seeks to improve business and work processes to assure business results are achieved.
  • Cultivates positive business relationships throughout the CNP organization and with key external partners.
  • Acts as a liaison between the various workforces and departments by exhibiting desirable and appropriate leadership behavior including integrity, ability to learn, results orientation, ability to interact effectively with others, team-playing, coaching, sense of urgency, and independent judgment that creates a productive unit dedicated to the achievement of business goals.
Education Description

Physical Requirements
  • Able to communicate either written and verbal communications either in person or through technical equipment such as telephone.
  • Able to demonstrate and apply the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and common office equipment.
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle and drive a motor vehicle daily or for extended time periods, in a safe manner, and enter/exit vehicle unassisted.
Working Conditions
  • Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
  • Able to work regular hours, with occasional or mandatory overtime; may be required to work rotating shifts.
