Job summary

Yellowstone Local, representing Bradley Mechanical, seeks an experienced HVAC technician to diagnose, service, and repair residential systems in Richmond and Central Virginia. Focus on accurate diagnostics and quality workmanship with customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, tune-ups, service of ACs/heat pumps/furnaces/boilers, electrical and refrigeration diagnostics, and same-day repairs when feasible.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• NATE Certification preferred.
• Journeyman License preferred but not required.
• Ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential HVAC systems.
• Advanced electrical wiring diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced HVAC refrigeration diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential HVAC systems throughout Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding Central Virginia communities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, HVAC tune-ups, and system inspections.
• Service and repair air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, ductless mini-split systems, thermostats, and indoor air quality equipment.
• Perform advanced electrical wiring diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Perform advanced HVAC refrigeration diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Complete same-day repairs when feasible to support customer satisfaction.
• Accurately complete service documentation, work orders, and job notes.

• Pay: $35.00-$48.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, skills, and qualifications

• Opportunity to participate in an incentive program that rewards efficiency, productivity, and quality workmanship

• Additional incentive compensation may exceed $11,000 annually, with top performers having the potential to earn up to $55,000 annually in incentives. Incentive compensation varies based on individual performance and is not guaranteed.

Your New Role

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential HVAC systems throughout Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding Central Virginia communities

• Perform preventive maintenance, HVAC tune-ups, and system inspections

• Service and repair air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, ductless mini-split systems, thermostats, and indoor air quality equipment

• Perform advanced electrical wiring diagnostics and troubleshooting

• Perform advanced HVAC refrigeration diagnostics and troubleshooting

• Complete same-day repairs when feasible to support customer satisfaction

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, refrigerant, and HVAC system performance issues

• Conduct system performance testing, airflow evaluations, and equipment assessments

• Identify maintenance and repair needs and recommend appropriate solutions

• Clearly explain diagnostic findings and repair options to homeowners

• Accurately complete service documentation, work orders, and job notes

• Follow manufacturer specifications, applicable safety standards, and company procedures

• Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach during residential service calls

• Independently manage assigned service calls and prioritize repair needs throughout the workday

• Collaborate with technicians and leadership to provide high-quality HVAC service

• 4+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred

• EPA Certification required

• NATE Certification preferred

• Journeyman License preferred but not required

• Experience completing same-day HVAC repairs when feasible

• Experience servicing and repairing air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and ductless mini-split systems

• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation

• Knowledge of HVAC maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and system performance best practices

• Understanding of airflow, ventilation, ductwork, and indoor air quality principles

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to clearly and professionally explain technical findings and repair recommendations

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements

• Ability to safely perform the essential duties of residential HVAC service work
