Job summary

Thomas Cooling & Heating, LLC is seeking a Residential HVAC Service Technician in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to diagnose and repair home heating and cooling systems, restore safe and efficient operation, and support energy efficiency in customers’ homes.

The role requires minimum 2 years of residential HVAC service experience, EPA certification (or working toward it), a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service technician experience.
• EPA certification required, or actively working toward EPA certification
• Strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and write English as needed to safely perform job duties, understand technical information, and communicate with customers

Responsibilities

• Diagnose residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and complete necessary HVAC repairs to restore proper and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and system performance issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, routine HVAC inspections, and system checks to help prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Assist with residential HVAC installations to support proper operation, reliable performance, and energy efficiency.
• Service heating and cooling equipment while following applicable HVAC standards and safe work practices.
• Deliver professional customer service and quality workmanship that supports homeowner satisfaction and dependable system performance.

Your New Role

• Work as a Residential HVAC Service Technician in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, helping homeowners maintain comfortable, safe, and efficient homes.

• Diagnose residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and complete necessary HVAC repairs to restore proper and efficient operation.

• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and system performance issues.

• Conduct preventive maintenance, routine HVAC inspections, and system checks to help prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.

• Assist with residential HVAC installations to support proper operation, reliable performance, and energy efficiency.

• Service heating and cooling equipment while following applicable HVAC standards and safe work practices.

• Communicate directly with homeowners to understand their comfort needs, explain findings, and recommend appropriate HVAC solutions.

• Deliver professional customer service and quality workmanship that supports homeowner satisfaction and dependable system performance.

• Minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service technician experience

• Recent residential HVAC service diagnostics and repair experience

• EPA certification required, or actively working toward EPA certification

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to meet applicable pre-employment drug screening and background check requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC troubleshooting skills

• Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex residential heating and cooling system issues

• Ability to read and write English as needed to safely perform job duties, understand technical information, and communicate with customers

• Ability to move up to 50 pounds and perform essential physical duties with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to climb ladders and work in attics, crawl spaces, and other areas commonly encountered during residential HVAC service, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Experience with residential HVAC maintenance, repair, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer service
