Job summary

Overstreet Builders, a leading custom home builder, seeks an experienced estimator to develop bids and manage cost data for residential new construction projects. You will work from plans, codes, and vendor inputs to craft accurate estimates and budgets.

Requires a minimum of 10 years estimating or related experience, strong math, and proficiency with Excel, Dropbox, Adobe, and Buildertrend. Collaboration with designers and subcontractors is essential for accurate pricing.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Strong Excel proficiency and ability to manage large datasets.
• Experience with architectural/engineering documents and cost data.

Responsibilities

• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Develop estimates and bids for residential new construction projects.
• Read, interpret, and understand project documentation, building code, and municipal requirements and communicate to outside vendors and subcontractors.
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating price.
• Maintain cost keys and price master lists with subcontractors.
• Estimate/bid custom designs and options for new construction and residential projects.
• Prepare construction budgets by analyzing home plans, updating specifications, and projecting costs for each elevation.
