Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, Inc. in New York City seeks a Resident Engineer with extensive experience in complex water and wastewater infrastructure construction.

You will lead on-site teams, assure quality, manage risks, and coordinate with owners, contractors, and designers to deliver projects on schedule and to spec. The role requires a deep understanding of construction practices and client interaction, with a focus on safety, communication, and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of related work experience in construction management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field or equivalent experience is required.
• PE in New York or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control and assurance across multiple projects.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and resolve issues.
• Develop detailed project scopes and objectives with the construction execution team.
• Analyze project progress and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage RFIs and ensure timely resolution of inquiries.
• Lead change management initiatives and ensure smooth transitions.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, industry standards and regulations.
• Oversee successful closeout activities for contractors or subcontractors.
