Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. in New York seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee construction inspection and project management for highway, bridge, and civil infrastructure projects in the NYC area. The role is full-time and on-site.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, a NY PE license or NICET IV, and at least 8 years in a Resident Engineer role with highway/bridge experience. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Active NY PE license or NICET IV required.
• Minimum 8 years as Resident Engineer; 5 years highway/bridge construction.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT or NYSTA projects preferred.
• 30-Hour OSHA Certification.
• CPM scheduling experience (P6 preferred).
• Ability to read plans, specs, and perform engineering computations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction issues.
• Review plans, drawings, and specs for accuracy and completeness.
• Review and approve submissions (RFIs, working drawings, VE requests).
• Conduct materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation.
• Monitor activities to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Document field conditions and completed work.
• Prepare monthly project status reports and attend meetings.
• Provide technical guidance on construction inspection.
