Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a seasoned Resident Engineer/CM Practice Lead to support transportation infrastructure construction projects across Northern and Central New Jersey.

This on-site role requires leadership, hands-on field experience, and strong technical expertise for highway, bridge, and rail work. The candidate will oversee inspection, coordinating with PMs and contractors, reviewing plans and RFIs, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer on roadway and bridge projects.
• Active New Jersey Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• ACI Certification.
• NJ SAT Asphalt Technician Certification.
• Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator Certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
• Strong knowledge of rail design and construction methods.
• Proficiency with inspection documentation software and mobile tools.
• TWIC Card eligibility and background screening compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction inspection and project management for highway, bridge, rail, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction‑related issues.
• Review construction plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Review and approve RFIs, shop drawings, working drawings, and value engineering proposals.
• Perform materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Track, document, and manage project issues and field conditions.
• Prepare and contribute to monthly project status reports.
• Support project pursuits and staffing oversight as a CM Practice Lead.
