Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer for NYC-area projects. You will oversee construction inspection and project management for highway, bridge, and civil infrastructure, providing leadership to ensure safety, design compliance, and regulatory adherence.

Required hands-on field experience, a NY PE license (or NICET IV) and strong knowledge of rail design practices. On-site work in NYC area with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• Active New York PE license or NICET IV required.
• Minimum 8 years as a Resident Engineer; 5 years in highway/bridge construction.
• Experience with NYSDOT/NYSTA projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rail design practices and construction techniques.
• Background check and 30-hour OSHA certification required.
• Proficiency with CPM scheduling and related software.
• Ability to perform computations, interpret plans, and apply inspection codes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PMs, engineers and contractors to resolve construction issues.
• Review plans, drawings and specs for accuracy and completeness.
• Review and approve submissions such as RFIs, working drawings and VE requests.
• Conduct materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation.
• Monitor construction activities for adherence to plans and specs.
• Track and manage project issues and conditions.
• Document field conditions and completed work.
• Prepare monthly project status reports and participate in meetings with technical guidance.
