Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, Inc., now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is actively seeking a Resident Engineer to lead CM/GC, design‑bid‑build, progressive design‑build, and support services for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority projects.

The role interfaces with the Agency/Owner, manages budgets and schedules, and directs staff to ensure complete, accurate contract records and timely project delivery while complying with regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California preferred.
• 10+ years of project management experience on large infrastructure projects.
• LA Metro experience preferable.
• Excellent written and oral communication; knowledge of industry practices.
• Experience with contractors and stakeholders; seller/doer mentality.
• Fluent English reading and writing for project communications.

Responsibilities

• Work with Client to manage budget, development, and schedule.
• Lead collaboration with contractors to ensure delivery.
• Direct staff and subconsultants to maintain contract records and progress.
• Confer with contractors on compliance with plans and quality.
• Review submittals and RFIs requiring approvals from authorities.
• Manage field inspections, surveys, and material testing for compliance.
• Prepare reports and integrate daily field diaries.
• Maintain complete project records and comply with policies.
• Calculate field quantities for payment and document as‑built conditions.
• Monitor schedule, budget, and coordination of design changes.
• Prepare contract change orders and involve owner approvals.
• Submit contract change documentation for technical design changes.
• Lead resolution of contractor disputes and assist owner inquiries.
• Escalate unresolved disputes to Senior Agency staff as needed.
