Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to join our Newark, NJ or Camden, NJ team in the Construction Engineering Department. You will oversee field inspection on heavy highway projects, review submittals and cost estimates, and coordinate with Project Managers and field staff.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, a NJ PE license (or NICET III/IV), and at least 8 years of inspection experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of New Jersey or NICET III/IV certification is required.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Resident Engineer and experience performing construction inspection on New Jersey Agency projects is required.
Strong ability to read and understand contract documents.
Ability to pass a TWIC background check and night work if required.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Resident Engineer on New Jersey Agency projects and perform on-site inspection for heavy highway projects.
Assist in the review of cost estimates and project submittals.
Oversee additional inspection staff in the field.
Coordinate with Project Managers.
Travel to project sites as required.
Perform office-related work when not performing construction inspection.
Ensure daily contractor operations comply with Contract Documents and keep project files up to date.
