Job summary

HallKeen Assisted Living Communities is seeking a Resident Care Director to ensure the safe operation of the resident services department, assess health functioning, and design care plans for each resident in our community.

The RCD will supervise nursing and resident care staff, coordinate health-related services, and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies. This exempt role requires an active RN license and the ability to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess clinical status of potential residents including nursing assessment and PCP consultation.
• Secure a statement from resident’s primary care physician indicating any physical or emotional limitations, and certify suitability for the community.
• Supervise the medication management program and assist residents with self-administration of their medication.
• Coordinate health-related services for residents.
• Develop a service plan for each resident according to state regulations and company policies.
• Provide supervision of residents’ health-related activities and ensure compliance with care instructions from PCP or health professionals.
• Maintain positive relations with residents, families and physicians.
• Report significant incidents/changes in residents’ needs to the Executive Director.
• Ensure Resident Services Nurse evaluates residents after hospitalization, incidents, injuries, or illnesses.
• Complete resident assessments and service plans per regulatory requirements.
• Supervise Nursing and Resident Care staff including staffing, scheduling, training, evaluations, and orientation to ensure safety and competency.
• Ensure adequate staffing with licensed nursing and care staff to meet residents’ needs.
• Maintain a current contract with a Home Health Agency.
• Act as community OSHA Liaison.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
