Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Research Strategic Operations (RSO) to direct day-to-day activities within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship (OVPRS). You will guide policies, oversee project management staff, and collaborate with department leaders to deliver cross-unit projects on time and within scope.

Required are a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of research project management experience; PMP certification is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of research project management experience.
• PMP certification highly preferred.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement and evaluate department operations.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collect, organize and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities in the RSO to deliver cross-unit projects.
• Define, prioritize, and develop projects with department leaders.
• Drive project management, deadlines, tasks, and team assignments.
• Oversee project development and ensure work aligns with standards.
• Analyze budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
• Develop and improve project management policies and processes.
• Evaluate projects for budget adherence and deadlines.
• Coach, train, and support staff to improve performance.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct reviews.
• Ensure adherence to university budgets and policies.
• Coordinate process improvement initiatives and dashboard reporting.
• Communicate project deliverables, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
