Job summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V in the Behavioral Sciences section of the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Under the PI, Laboratory Manager or Research Teaching Specialist I, the specialist performs research activities and applies standard techniques and procedures.

Essential duties include coordinating study progress, recruiting participants, creating surveys, managing data, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in research support and data handling is preferred.
• Ability to adhere to protocols and IRB processes.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all aspects of research and monitors study progress.
• Recruits, screens, consents, and enrolls participants per project timelines.
• Creates surveys using survey software programs and conducts surveys per protocol.
• Responsible for study data entry, data management, preliminary data screening, and data cleaning.
• Assists with progress reports, regulatory and study accrual/progress updates.
• Prepares and maintains regulatory documentation, including IRB, OnCore, and Clinicaltrials.gov as needed.
• Actively participates in study-related meetings and develops agendas/minutes.
• Conducts targeted literature searches and supports manuscript/grants preparation.
