Job summary

PitchBook Data, a Morningstar company, is seeking a Senior Research Intelligence Engineer in Seattle to lead data pipelines, methodology deployment, and data-driven reporting for institutional research products.

You will collaborate with Product, Dev, and Data Operations to deliver timely market insights, build scalable data workflows, and support analysts through robust data programs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or data-driven research.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the key liaison between Institutional Research Group, Product, and Dev teams to implement PIRG-driven methodology into Platform products.
• Research, build, and maintain data pipelines for PIRG sources and optimize SQL queries/views.
• Advise on methodology adjustments, data cleanups, and production readiness with Data Operations.
• Develop and deploy applications for prototyping, internal and production use cases.
• Communicate project progress, roadblocks, and methodological changes to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold company goals and values.
