Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biomedical science or related field.
• Experience developing, editing, reviewing, and applying for grants.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• CRA certification.
• Complex proposal preparation experience in an academic environment.
• Experience managing multiple projects and timelines in a dynamic research setting.
• Experience preparing clinical research and clinical trial proposals.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of sponsored project guidelines and the research regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex proposals within parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines.
• Oversee and communicate submission process, both paper and electronic; resolve issues.
• Develop, prepare, revise, and finalize project budgets; provide budget justification.
• Serve as liaison between investigators, Office of Sponsored Research, and departments.
• Collaborate to ensure awards are set up properly and cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled.
• Review and approve expenditures; oversee post-award spending and compliance.
• Develop and communicate reports; create forecasting models and decision aids.
• Manage contract closeout and respond to audit inquiries.
• Interpret complex policies for project and university personnel; guide staff.
• Identify process improvements; lead cross-campus projects; train staff.
